Ensemble Video

The Ensemble Video enables collaborative sharing and management of video content. User's can Upload, Organize video content, Securely integrate videos and playlists into your Bb course (s), and Measure using built-in analytics.

Using the Media Library:

Adjusting Display Settings:

  • By default, the Media Library displays in a single column, with 10 items per page. Use the selector drop-down to show 10, 20, 50, or 100 results per page.

Download or Preview Content:

  • To Download a video, click the Download button under the video thumbnail in the Media Library. To preview a video or image gallery, click on the content's title or thumbnail in the Media Library. A pop-up window with a player will open.

Embedding the Player on an External Website:

  • Click on the Embed button, to generate HTML code, copy & paste into a platform outside of Ensemble, such as your forward-facing website. This option is only available if the content has been published.

Creating a Permalink:

  • Click on the Permalink button to generate a static & permanent hyperlink for an item in the Media Library. The permalink can be copied & pasted anywhere you'd like to share it. This option is only available if the content has been published.

Sharing on Social Media and Email:

  • To share a video to social media, click the Share button under the content you'd like to share. This option is only available if the content has been published. The Sharing window includes options for Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Email.

Bulk Publishing:

To publish multiple items to the same destination(s), select the content from the Media Library by clicking the corresponding checkbox for each desired item, then click Bulk Publish.

A new window will ask to confirm the content selected. If any of the items on the list are not meant to be included in the Bulk Publish operation, press the x icon next to that item to exclude it. Click Continue if the list is correct. Click Close to cancel the Bulk Publish operation and return to the Media Library.

Creating and Managing Playlists:


Create a Playlist- A playlist lets you create a collection of content for a course, website or blog.

  1. From the navigation column, click on Playlists.

  2. Click on the +Add button to create one.

  3. Enter a name for the playlist.

  4. Click the Allow Download checkbox if you want to allow students to download the media file.

  5. Click on Save.

Add Content to a Playlist:

  1. From your Media library, click the checkbox to the left of the videos.

  2. From top right, Click on Bulk and select Bulk Publish.

  3. Click on Continue and click the check box to the left of the playlists.

  4. Click on Apply and Finish.

Managing Playlists:

  • View Playlist—Preview the playlist, even if a permalink has not been generated.

  • Embed Playlist—Embed codes are available to embed content in Bb, Blog or Webpage.

  • Create Permalink—Create a static URL for the playlist that can be viewed by and shared to anyone. There is no log-in needed to view the Playlist if you have the Permalink URL. Click the Create Permalink button to generate the URL.

  • Google Analytics—Google Analytics tracking code(s) can be associated with one or more playlists.

  • Categories—Categories enable you to organize your playlist content.

  • Auto-Publish—Content in a specific Media Workflow can be automatically published to playlists when it arrives in the Media Library.

  • Access Control—Limit access to just Ensemble Users, or restrict playback to a specific Domain or IP.

  • Sort— select how to sort your videos within a playlist.

Upload Options:

From the Upload Options dialog box, Add:

  • Title and Description (if desired)

  • Upload—to send content to designated Ensemble library

  • Preview—to return to Anthem editor

  • Save—to save the content without uploading.

Creating a Dropbox:

The built-in dropbox tool in Ensemble Video makes it easy to collect content from other users such as students, colleagues, or clients. Content uploaded from a dropbox can then be published to a playlist, where the content creators can view and share their videos.

From Administration section in the navigation pane select Dropbox.

  1. Click the + Add button to create a Dropbox.

  2. Configure your Dropbox; Add a name and description (required fields).

  3. The URL will be a link you share with your students for them to access your Dropbox.

  4. Click on the Save button when you are done.

Share your Dropbox:

  1. Right-click on the URL and copy it.

  2. Share the URL via Blackboard course or however you choose to share.

  3. Your students will:

    • Enter their names, email addressses, title of video content

    • Click on Add File and Start Upload.

After content is uploaded, file(s) will be automatically placed in the Ensemble Video Media Library to be viewed.

Reporting:

In the Reporting administrative control you can access a wide variety of statistics for any Library in your Ensemble Video Organization.

  1. From the Administration section on the navigation column, click Library and then select Reporting.

  2. Content Popularity Report is the first report you see when accessing the Reporting function.

  3. Change type of Report, click the Select a Report dropdown menu, and select another option from the list.

  4. Export a report by using the Export dropdown.
