LinkedIn Learning in Brightspace

Linkedin Learning is a tool provided with your Fisher account. You can access it directly by going to my.sjf.edu, signing in, and clicking on the launchpad. This specific page will walk you through how to integrate a course or another type of LinkedIn Learning content type into your Brightspace course.

NOTE: Only LinkedIn courses link directly to the Brightspace grade book. If you add a video, article, audio, etc., it will not automatically add a grade book item in Brightspace.

Adding a LinkedIn Learning Course

Linking a LinkedIn Learning course in your Brightspace course makes it easier for students to access the LinkedIn Learning course and allows you to include their completion of the LinkedIn Learning course as a graded item in your Brightspace course.

Note: If you are on an iPad, make sure Prevent Cross-Site Tracking is turned OFF for LinkedIn Learning to work in your web browser for both Faculty & Students.

Go to Content in your course
Click on the module where you want the link to live
Click on Existing Activities
Click on LinkedIn Learning
Enter in a search term or click on a suggested popular skill
Under Type, click the box to the left of Courses to ensure you only see LinkedIn Learning courses.
Use the other filters to hone in on the appropriate level, topic, software, etc.
Scroll down and view the options
Clicking on a course will prompt it to open up for you to view the course contents
When you're ready to add a course, click on Add to the right of the course name
Click Confirm at the bottom right to confirm your choice.
This will create a link in your course and create an item in your grade book.
The grade item shows up as excluded from grade book and hidden from students

Remember, once students complete at least 70% of the course, their grade will start to show up in the grade book.

Adding a LinkedIn Learning Video or Other Content Type

This will not create a grade book item.

Go to Content in your course
Click on the module where you want the link to live
Click on Existing Activities
Click on LinkedIn Learning

Scroll down and view the options
Clicking on an item will prompt it to open up for you to view the course contents
When you're ready to add the item, click on Add to the right of the item's name.
Click Confirm at the bottom right to confirm your choice.
