When H5P Interactives are created they come with a grade item worth 10 points.
Correct answers receive the full 10 points, wrong answers receive 0 points.
You can always reduce the score less than 10 but you can not make it more than 10 points.
If you would like to utilize this feature but not have it worth points in the grade book, make sure you pay attention to Step 7 in the following.
Start in Content and click on Upload/Create and select Create a File.
You can click on the Creator + Authoring Tools and choose Interactives.
If this is your first time using an H5P Interactive, you will be prompted to enter a code that was automatically sent to your email.
Copy and paste the code from the email and click Proceed. You only have to do this once.
You will be brought to My Content, click on the Add Content button.
Choose between:
True/False
Drag and Drop (this one is great, but requires a little more setup, H5P has a tutorial on Drag and Drop)
Fill in the Blanks
Multiple Choice
Click on your desired question type and in the pop up click on Use.
Fill out the details for your question.
When writing out options, don't forget to use the checkbox to mark the correct answer.
Look for the Add Option to add more choices.
Click on the x can to remove unwanted choices
Look through the Behavioural settings if you want disable students from trying again or showing the solution.
If it is a Drag and Drop question Apply Penalties is on by Default but you can turn that off so anyone who attempts will receive 10 points.
Out of the tabs at the bottom the one that matters is LTI Settings
The default is the Last attempt will be the score in the grade book, but can be changed to First attempt or Best attempt.
Choosing Do not send score will make the activity useable, but it will not have a grade item in the gradebook.
Click Save and Insert to preview the question.
When it is ready, click the Insert button to include on the page.
When it informs you that the practice is saved, click the x in the top right to see your practice embedded on the page.
You can always edit your activity or replace it by clicking the Edit button with a pencil at the top.
If your students are accessing an H5P interactive for the first time, they will have to complete the email code confirmation that you completed in Step 2.
The I am confused button with flag in the bottom right of every interactive is for your students:
Learners can click on that and describe what they are confused about (they can even choose to be anonymous).
You as the instructor will not only see it in the report but you will get an email letting you know about the confusion.
