UN peace messenger, environmentalist, earthman and friend of Nature, Mr. Yuji Miyata visited Zvezdara forest on December 23rd, where he and activists of Zvezdara Forest Protection Association planted fir tree. Fir tree was chosen because of upcoming holidays in order to persuade people to buy fir tree seedlings with turf, that can be planted later.

Mr. Yuji Miyata is an environmentalist, UN peace messenger and diligent activist. Wherever he goes he walks and plants trees. So far he walked over 10 000 kilometers through 11 countries and planted more than 3 000 trees. He got his inspiration from his teacher, Paul Coleman, UN peace ambassador and earthwalker.

He decided to visit Serbia because of the suffering of people and nature during the troubled history of this region.

Mr. Miyata says that: "Many people think that peace exists between human and human, but also peace exists between human and nature, too.". He also adds that "small action can make big difference".

Unfortunately, in Serbia, unlike any other country, Mr. Miyata wasn't met by representatives of Ministry of Environment.
