THIS TUTORIAL IS NOW INVALID. ALSO, I'M NOW A TECH MOD FOR WT SO TECHNICALLY I'M NOT ALLOWED TO TELL YOU THIS STUFF ANYMORE. EITHER WAY THIS BUG HAS BEEN FIXED GOOD BYE.
For those who have played Simulator Battles or Helicopter EC, you have may noticed a trend where teams with nations on both sides tend to favour team B. This isn't by chance, rather, a coding error on Gaijin's part
I believe I've already reported this bug years ago but until Gaijin gives a fuck, I'll just put this here. Just think of it as payback for them not respecting my bug reports.
This exploit always guarantees you a team side when your faction are on both sides, and the conditions are as follows:
Can only be applied to Helicopter Arcade EC (See HERE on optimising helicopter grind with this knowledge for favourable ground target positions) and Air Simulator Battles (See HERE for exploiting Simulator Battles [Operation] Sessions and HERE for Enduring Confrontation mechanics). The thing is that these two game modes have a special function that other game modes such as Tank Simulator does not: Room Selection to bypass the matchmaker restrictions.
The faction you are playing must be available on both sides of the mission. In the example below, this only applies to US and RU. All other nations have to join team A to join the game.
Team B must not outnumber team A by a set amount BOTH in-game/session and in the lobby counter by a set amount (which are not synchronised by the way, another problem on gaijin's end which may lead to a softlock for people attempting to join). This exploit is unrelated to the dual session bug (one lobby provides players for two independent sessions, which may show when you leave one session you automatically join the other session instead of staying in the lobby and a heavy mismatch between the lobby player count and the in-session player count).
In other words:
If the in-game counter exceeds but the lobby counter doesn't, you will be allowed to join the lobby but will be kicked back to the room list with an error.
If the in-game count does not exceed but the lobby counter does, you won't get the option to join and the room will be greyed out.
Also do note that a lobby can only contain a maximum of 16 players per side except for very rare cases. I haven't uncovered the reason why this may occur but is a rare occurrence.
For SB, maximum player differences is a flat rate of 3. For AB Helicopter Battles, the difference is 2 players.
You may ONLY join team B through the room selection option if the faction exists on both sides. even if there are slots on team A.
The above also applies if you create a room.
Squad members may not be auto assigned to the same team as the squad leader even if he uses the room selector, placing him on team B by default. Just get them to find the room and join themselves. It just means no squad bonuses, which doesn't exist in simulator battles anymore because gaijin as usual, likes to nerf SB.
That's all!
Here is a visualised flow diagram example if that was too hard for your brain to interpret:
There's a typo here, the condition for joining the team should be 1 player exceeding other team (AB) or 2 (SB)
Now for some examples: First image here we have showing that team B is full of players despite americans also being available on team A. The only way to join team A is through matchmaker as US or RU.
In this second image here you will notice the enemy team (team A) mostly consists of bots:
