AWeDeC (Automatic Weed Detection in Crops)
This is a project funded by DAAD Germany that was run in collaboration with the Robotics Research Lab at University of Kaiserslautern.
Goals:
Use robots to detect weeds in different kinds of crops.Weeds density is analyzed visually from the data gathered by a robot and weed density map is created for the farm. This map can then be used to do precision spray of herbicides. This results in higher efficiency of weed control and lesser cost of farming.
