Stories where these characters are found...
Since all these stories are in the note taking stages, some of the asterisks are just guesstimates at this point.
Some characters are just written about (mentioned by other characters). They aren't full characters in any story-- those are marked. Not all characters will be full characters in their respective stories. They maybe a full character in one story and not a full character in another story. A lot of the characters in the short story are only talked about by other characters.
*Full character in current short story [as I make notes, who knows what will happen in the end.]
*Character just talked about in short story
*"To Them That's Left"
*"Lums Chapel Whoop-de-doo"
*Just written about not a full character
* In just the two stories, "To Them That's Left" and "Lums Chapel Whoop-de-doo"
*All Stories (most stories?)
(d) = deceased ??? = unknown
Places
*Lums Chapel -- a small town; the county seat; "Oak Street" is the main street with stores and businesses along it; town where most of my characters live or come from
*Rhubarb-- the fictional town Arthur Miles writes about in his famous book, "At the Other End of Rhubarb". Some people in Lums Chapel believe Arthur was writing about their lives in town and that he disguised what really happened and set the story in Rhubarb.
*Cooper family home in Lums Chapel -- home of Nana and Grandpa Josh Cooper; they raised their family here; built by Grandpa Josh and Nana's brother Leonard. For some in the Cooper family, visiting this house for family gatherings is like, "crawling back into the womb". Cousin Kristi moved there with her family, when Grandpa Josh moved to a nursing home. Kristi is moving to a "new" house which is prompting the sale of the Cooper family home and dispersal of Nana and Grandpa Josh's belongings.

*Henry Dullard -- "famous" art house movie director; not many in Lums Chapel have heard of him; will be directing, "At the Other End of Rhubarb" in Lums Chapel; "famously" directed, "I Dictionary" about a man who set out to memorize a large dictionary; was planning to film "The Flower Petal War" but blames the "political climate" as reason for abandoning the project
**Margaret Dumphries nee Granfield -- widow of Lionel; former Lums Chapel HS Librarian; aspiring author; gardener; collects, "cult classic" Nash Richmond detective books written by Harvey Mackintosh (has impressive collection of first editions); no children of her own, "everybody's aunt". Anglophile; grows herb teas; watches British murder mysteries on television; has two cats, a calico,"Miss Marble" and a male cat, "Archie Marble". Listens to, "London on the short-wave". Presently writing a "tea cozy" mystery story. Writes novel on an electric typewriter; won't learn to "do" the Internet as she doesn't want it taking "all" her time.
**Lionel Dumphries (d)-- was married to Margaret; probably had a business or worked in some agricultural business of some sort
*Doris Jean Fultz nee Miles -- aunt of Arthur and David Miles; regrettably for Margaret, Doris is her "sidekick" (in a way); owner operator of Style Shoppe beauty parlor; town gossip
**Daddy Granfield-- married to Momma Granfield; father of Josephine Argyle and Emily Granfield; oil field worker; nearly retired
**Emily Granfield-- daughter of Momma and Daddy Granfield; sister of Josephine Argyle; teacher/house mother at Christian home for troubled girls
**Momma Granfield nee Cooper-- married to Daddy Granfield; mother of Josephine Argyle and Emily Granfield; house wife; dishes she cooks are as close to Nana Cooper's cooking as humanly possible
***Kay Hosfeldt nee Granfield-- married to Elmer; mother of Eleanor
***Elmer Hosfeldt-- married to Kay; father of Eleanor; editor of Lums Chapel Herald newspaper
**Janet ??? nee Argyle -- Sam's sister; married two kids
***Kate ??? nee Cooper -- Aunt Kate
**Kristi ??? nee Cooper -- Cousin Kristi; daughter of Edward and "Auntie" Cooper; married with two kids; has been living in Cooper family home with family since Grandpa Josh went into nursing home; is moving to a "new" house prompting the sale of the Cooper family home and dispersal of Nana and Grandpa Josh's belongings
**Leonard ??? (d) Nana Cooper’s brother; helped Grandpa Josh build Cooper family home in Lums Chapel
**Harvey Mackintosh-- author of the cult classic, "Nash Richmond" detective stories. Margaret likes to collect them. She has first editions.
**Arthur Miles-- David Miles' brother. Known as, "The Author", the name of the main character in his famous book, "At the Other End of Rhubarb". "At the Other End of Rhubarb" erroneously thought by many to be "autobiographical"; writes screenplay for the movie version of "At the Other End of Rhubarb"
***David Miles-- Eleanor's husband. Brother of Arthur Miles. Has held family together after Arthur went away to "the big city" to write books.
**Eleanor Miles nee Hosfeldt-- often mistaken for character "Eloise" in Arthur Miles' famous book, "At the Other End of Rhubarb". Married to David, has children, stable life. Daughter of Kay and Elmer Hosfeldt. Feels like she has to prove to community that she isn't anything like "Eloise". Doesn't like it that Henry Dullard has picked Amber Rare to play "Eloise" in the movie version of, "At the Other End of Rhubarb".
*Anna Moore -- Anna works at Widecombe’s London office. She is “chief” negotiator with the actor Nigel Mumford on the book deal for his autobiography
**Nigel Mumford-- actor from London, England. Star of "At the Other End of Rhubarb" etc.. Will be playing, "The Author". Mostly known in U.K. and Europe. Wishes to write his autobiography, and contacted his agent, who then contacted publishers. For those who want to know, Nigel is a cross between, Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart, and Gregory Peck--although he probably doesn't come across like that in my writing. To learn what television, plays and movies this character has "been in" click on, "Television, Plays and Movies of Nigel Mumford". [handsome like Gary Cooper; a guy you can "bring home to mother" like Jimmy Stewart; with integrity like Gregory Peck]
*Mrs. Primrose -- Lives above Nigel Mumford. Collects his mail when he is away. Sometimes does light cleaning for him. Drives Josephine Argyle back and forth to Nigel Mumford’s each day.
*Amber Rare -- the female lead in "At the Other End of Rhubarb". Not known for her "morals". Will be playing, "Eloise". Eleanor isn't happy about that as it will reinforce the stereo types people have about her.
*Mr. Wister -- head of Widecombe Publishing; has been working with Anna Moore on getting Nigel Mumford to write his autobiography; sends Josephine Argyle to London to work with Nigel Mumford on his autobiography;
Story I am working on starting in December 2015. I hope to write this as a novel and a radio drama. This is the adventures of Constance Lingwood the, "city girl," Josephine Argyle has been pen pals with since childhood.
