Our emotional health describes how we cope with our feelings. We all have the ability to experience a vast variety of feelings. Sometimes we are able to manage those feelings with ease. At other times, we might feel as though our feelings are taking over the rest of our lives - or we don't feel anything at all. We are experiencing positive emotional health when we are able to balance different feelings, both the pleasant and unpleasant ones, while we continue to function at school, at home, and with our friends.
Emotional wellness comes from doing our best to recognize and nurture the feelings that move through us in a given hour or day. Emotions are an integral part of being human. Anger. Jealousy. Joy. Sadness. Grief. Contentment. Frustration. Love. All of these emotions help us to process our experiences and to interact with others.. They impact how we think and behave.
