Woburn Afterschool Literacy and Numeracy Classes
Students can sign up for afterschool classes to support literacy, math and science through their classroom teacher or vice-principal. Classes run from 3:30pm to 4:30pm daily Monday through Thursday.
Peers of Woburn (POW) Tutoring Program, aims to connect students who want extra support in math with peers who are confident, motivated, and eager to help others.
How it works:
· Students can sign up as a tutor or tutee using the forms posted on the Google Classroom (code: w3udi544)
· Tutoring sessions can take place before school, during lunch, or after school in designated, supervised areas (currently the library).
· Tutors will log their sessions on a sign-in sheet in the library to collect volunteer hours.
· Students are matched based on grade, subject, language, and availability, and whenever possible, pairing ESL students with tutors who speak the same language.
