Splash Landings

Saturday December 5th 12:30-3pm

The annual swim outing is set for Saturday, December 5, from 12:30pm to 3:00pm at Splash Landings at the Park Center in Glenview. The address for Splash Landings is 2400 Chestnut Road, Glenview IL. The Pack is covering the cost for the scouts and their chaperon. We will be paying on a per person basis, so please respond to the Evite (or Jaime Fink).

The Glenview Park District has put in place a FREE swim assessment for all group participants. The swim test starts at 12:30pm for our group. Every group will be required to have their participants swim tested. This test will consist of swimming from one side of the lap pool and back (a lifeguard will personally accompany each child in the water during their assessment). If a participant does not display ongoing endurance, the test administrator may ask for the swimmer to swim additional lengths until strength and endurance can be established. If the participants successfully completes the assessment with a strong swim (without assistance or struggling) they may go into any pool within the facility designated as a BLUE and ORANGE areas. If the participant does not successfully complete the assessment, for their safety they will only be allowed to swim in the ORANGE area, must wear an ORANGE wristband. A Glenview Park District staff member will also assist the person in finding the appropriate sized lifejacket that they must wear when they are in or by the pools.
