Project LEARN, Inc., is seeking a self-motivated Development and Communications Intern who is looking for a position on a dynamic, forward-thinking, team. This position will provide a supportive environment for the Development and Communications Intern to expand their professional experience and share new, innovative ideas with the team. The Development and Communications Intern will support the Development team with researching funding sources, organizing events and programs, drafting and editing commotion for multiple audiences, and supporting other development activities.
The Development and Communications Intern will report directly to the Development Director and will be highly skilled in oral and written communications, organizing events, researching, and will also be versed in Microsoft Office, Google, Canva, and Squarespace. Following the satisfactory completion of this position, part-time employment may be extended out to the Development and Communications Intern.
Responsibilities:
Students will undertake a variety of tasks including but not limited to some of the following:
Researching new funding opportunities for Project LEARN to apply to including grants, individual donors, and corporate sponsors
Drafting various PR content such as eNewsletters, flyers, and other marking materials
Supporting the Grants and Communications Specialist with managing social media accounts
Supporting the team during various events and programs
Assisting with the organizing and execution of events and programs
Updating the Project LEARN, Inc. website as needed
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in upper-level writing, reading, and critical analysis
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility
Strong proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, Canva, and Squarespace
Excellent real-time communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
Keen attention to detail
Prior experience with Canva and Constant Contact desirable (but not required)
Team player with the ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
A friendly, upbeat attitude is most welcome!
Requirements:
Complete 10-20 unpaid hours per week (120-hr. total minimum)
Participate in meetings as scheduled
Access to Google, Canva, and all social media platforms that Project LEARN uses
