Economic Theory Seminar at SMU

Our economic theory seminar consists of the speaker's 70 minute long talk including Q&A followed by an informal discussion with refreshments (more or less 20 minutes). Note that this rule applies only to our economic theory seminar, which is usually held from 16:00 on Thursdays.

For checking the schedule of the seminar series as well as the archive of the past talks in the seminar series, go to the seminar schedule at SMU.

Here we provide some information useful for the seminar speakers:

(1) On the day of your seminar, please come to School of Economics administration office in the building of School of Economics and School of Social Sciences) at anytime between 9:30am and 9:55am.

DIRECTION: You can find the location of the building on this campus map. As a visitor, you must go through the visitor's entrance because you don't have the access card to the building. After going through the visitor's entrance, you explain your purpose of visit to the security person there. Although the security person sometimes asks us to confirm your visit to SMU, this should usually be quick. Then, use the elevator and come up to the 5th floor of the building. On the 5th floor of the building, once again, there is another door you cannot go through without access card. So, you should talk to the person at the administrative office of School of Economics about your purpose of visit to SMU.

(2) We usually set up the meetings with our faculty members and graduate students from 10:00am. Please keep in mind that we go for lunch and after your talk at the seminar, we also go for dinner. So, if you have any food restrictions, please let us know it beforehand.

(3) Let us know the title of your talk at your earliest convenient time. Please also send us the paper to be presented if it is available.
