For checking the schedule of this workshop as well as the archive of the past talks in the workshop, go to the Schedule of Economic Theory Workshop.
Here I provide some information useful for the seminar speakers and participants:
(1) First of all, if you are a seminar speaker,
If you can come earlier, let me know. I am happy to talk to you about research and set up the meeting with our faculty members and graduate students. We can also go for lunch together if you can come around 12:00. Let me know if you are interested. After your talk at the seminar, we go for dinner with you. If you cannot make it, let me know. If you also have any food restrictions, it would be very much appreciated if you let me know it beforehand.
(2) If you are a seminar speaker,
let me know the title of your talk at your earliest convenient time. Please let me also know if we can upload your paper (and/or slides) at our workshop website. If you are OK, please send me either the file of the paper (and/or slides) or the link to the paper (and/or slides). Of course, we can circulate your paper (and/or slides) only to the seminar audience. Let me know if this is what you want. Finally, it is totally fine if you do not have anything ready in your hand. Let me know if this is the case.
If you are a Japanese, please read the following:
一橋大学経済理論ワークショップでは,現場の聴衆に応じて,報告を英語か日本語にさせて頂きます.もし日本語での報告を希望の方は,明示的に日本語での発表であることをお知らせください.もし日本語・英語どちらでも構わないという方は連絡をして頂く必要はありません.その場合は報告スライドは英語での作成をお願いします.もちろん,報告者自身が英語での報告を特に希望する場合も特に連絡して頂く必要はありません.報告者の希望を最優先します.
(3) If you are a seminar speaker and get (at least partial) financial support from us, please first go to the following page:
Moreover, if we cover your travel cost, we must ask you to submit your boarding pass. So, please make sure that you keep it.
(4) If you want to stay at our guest house (called ``Sano-shoin''), please send me the following information:
(i) Check-in date
(ii) Check-out date
(iii) Do you want breakfast? The breakfast costs 600 (JPY) and you have to set up the time when you have breakfast. The choice would be either 7:00am, 7:30am or 8:00am. If you don't say anything, the default option is 8:00am. However, you don't get breakfast over the weekend.
You can check in at Sano-shoin at any time between 15:00 and 21:00 over the weekdays and 15:00 - 17:00 over the weekend. For check-in, you must bring the certificate of staying at Sano-shoin, which I will send to you prior to your visit to Hitotsubashi. Please print out or scan this certificate and show it to the receptionist when you check in. Note that the receptionist at Sano-shoin does not speak English. So, when you are in trouble, give me a call.
If you cannot check in during the above time periods, let me know. Then, I get the key to Sano-shoin beforehand and I can go to Sano-shoin with you later.
The breakfast is served at the Lounge on the first floor, which is very close to the reception desk. Your room is on the second floor and you should come down to the room on the first floor at the time you specified (7:00am, 7:30am, or 8:00am).
If you want to stay at Sano-shoin for multiple nights (at most seven nights, though), there is a way of reducing the cost. That is, you can decide how often you want your bed sheets or towels to be replaced. Note that bed sheets or towels are not replaced over the weekend. The cost of staying at Sano-shoin for one night is 3,400 (JPY) excluding breakfast. So, if you stay there for multiple nights and take the option of not replacing bed sheets or towels, your per night cost reduces from 3,400 to 1,800 (JPY).
The location of Sano-shoin can be found below:
When you check in at Sano Shoin, you have to show the copy of the reservation document. We usually scan this document, make it a pdf file, and send it to you via email. So, please print out this document beforehand, bring it with you, and show it to the reception desk at Sano Shoin.
Even if you are financially supported by us, you have to make payment directly to me. So, please bring some cash in Japanese yen with you before coming to Hitotsubashi. You will be reimbursed later so that the money is wire transferred to your bank account. If you want to know how you can get cash in Japanese yen, go to the following page:
