DANCE OF WORDS
Life is full of rhythm and dance,
Know the electrons dance
inside atoms forming a circle,
The solar system,
girls in a group dance
moving around their radiant hero.
‘Thandava’ of the burning stars,
‘Lasya’ of the lily white Venus;
the whole universe is a school of dance.
Green leaves in breeze,
forest brooks in ripplets;
dance of nature in glee.
In sunshine
light kisses light;
under moonlight
shadow embraces shadow.
Their movements are rhythmic.
Flowers at dawn,
colours at dusk,
waves till late at night
dance until get exhausted
to fall asleep on their mother’s laps.
Hearts pulsate with measured beats;
throughts modulate to nature’s rhythm.
The brook
with the faltering steps of an infant,
the river
in the autumn’s idle flow
like the hesitant steps of a bride to her nuptial bed,
in summer
the thinned flow
like the pining spouse of an army-man,
in monsoon
in spate and bleeding red
like the fury of an outraged woman;
the flow
whether quiet or troubled
moves in dancing waves towards its destination;
like poetry
whose syllables
throb with sentiments
beam with meaning
dance with rhythm
to enter into a receptive mind.
