Below are answers to questions from an TI-Nspire CX CAS connecting Math & Science workshop that was in Albuquerque, NM in August 2011. Also enjoy and add files that can be used to help student succeed.
Q. What happens when I'm on my own? Who do I email for help? What follow up resources are there?
A. I'd recommend sending questions to the Google Group. Also see the Useful Links for links to Atomic Learning free videos, etc.
Also there are ongoing webinars and past online pd has been recorded. The next meeting is Sept 13, Back to School with TI-Nspire Technology Time: 8 PM EDT | 7 PM CDT | 6 PM MDT | 5 PM PDT http://education.ti.com/calculators/pd/US/Online-Learning/Webinars
Q. Where are good resources (projects) that are already created?
A. Many can be easily found and explored with your TI-Nspire Teacher Software by looking in the Content Workspace when you are connected to the Internet. It shows the activities on Math Nspired, TI-Math, and the Activities Exchange. You can explore activities for NM standards
**We looked at how you can take questions, like from SBA 8th grade, and make formative assessment questions out of them with the Teacher Software to be sent out to the student with the Navigator.
**We talked about GRANTS for getting TI technology and Vernier probes. Vernier has a website for some grants. Be sure to tap into Title 1 or other "Title" funds that are available.
**We had a great time working with a variety of Data Collection probes and sensors like thehttp://www.vernier.com/products/sensors/motion-detectors/cbr2/ CBR2 ($93), Easy Temp ($38), and a new one to many of you that many of you commented you could really see the possibility in a middle school and high school class - the Hand Dynamometer ($99). Read more about data collection on the TI-Nspire on a recent blog entry.
**Laura & Marco shared their work with making math videos for Spanish speakers on www.laracosmath.com.
