An implications of the fact that a split screen can be sent to the students as Quick Poll is that teachers can send more than one question at a time. Suggesting CTRL TAB will help students to toggle through the applications on a split screen.
Teachers could also set it up so that the students can do a calculation in a Quick Poll as shown in this video.
Yes students can get access to the ScratchPad if Tools > Quick Poll Options is set up to allow document access. Quick Polls can be utilized to leverage technology to test for students' ability to do computations without technology if that is what is desired. For example a teacher can send a group of middle school students some review questions about fractions or even their times tables, like 9x6=. This is fun to do on the Navigator's Quick Polls, because you can provide instant feedback and even find out who answered first.
To do this in the Students tab of the Review Toolbox, click the gear and select time. If they had submitted their answer, it shows three decimal places. If they did not submit, it only shows to the nearest hundredths of a second.
