Welcome to the TI-Nspire Group Google Site. For those who would like to improve this site, there are several people who can let you 'in' so you can add files and generally improve the site. It was started as a means to conveniently add TI-Nspire tns files, like the popularly requested Angry Birds.
I am excited to announce a Stopwatch for the TI-Nspire that can be found in the download-able files page.
Disclaimer: My contribution to the Lua Script was only feedback. So special thanks to the great guy at TI who answered/fulfilled my dream and listened to my requests. I did add page 1.2 to show you what can be easily done with the file. Now it is time for your imagination. There is information on its page 1.3 about calibrating. If you do calibrate your TI-Nspire handheld (Clickpad, Touchpad or CX) or the software (mac/pc, Nav/Teacher/Student), please share what calibration factor you stored in stopwatch.calibration. You can add it to the comments below. You are also welcome to discuss what you like about the file, what plans you have to use it for in your mathematics or science classroom, what documents you are adding the stopwatch script page to, etc.I've used it for several labs already. Some of the reasons I love it are: - Every students had their own 'stopwatch' with them all the time.- It doesn't beep! How many times have students accidentally (or otherwise) turned on the alarm that goes off a odd hours of the day and night. This, of course, drains the battery... - I don't have to get out the baby tiny screwdriver for the itsy bitsy screws and change the unusual watch batteries ever year. - The buttons actually work. I've had a goodly number of stopwatches from education/science companies and the buttons don't consistently work properly. With this TI-Nspire Stopwatch file the buttons or mouse-cursor actually work and with the CX the icons are in color.Enjoy,
