Discussion came up again today about fonts in the various applications of the TI-Nspire. The Notes pages gives the widest collection of fonts as demonstrated in the following screen shot. Any font you can get on a Notes application can be copy/pasted to a Question.
So as you can see from the image, on a Notes page, fonts that are available at one time, but not in combination (i.e. we cannot have text that is both bold and underlined) include
- regular
- bold
- italics
- underline
- super/sub script - This gives a smaller font - see the "Vector quantities" sentence in the screen shot.
- 9 colors + 6 grays - fill & text
- ctrl M - math box italics or bold for stored variables
- and check out the options under menu > Insert > Shapes especially for having lines above text.
Question application:
- color - fill and text
- Write it in a Notes page and copy/paste it to a Question app
- ctrl M for italics
Graphs or Geometry - right-click (ctrl menu) in white space to make text or press menu > Actions > Text
- default italics
- "regular" font if it is in quotes - e.g. " the text you want people to see " (Get the quotes to be off the page.)
- bold if the variable is stored
- color for object labels like a circle, then re-size the circle to just a 'dot' [can someone add how to make the 'dot' disappear? thanks]
>> Recommend using a split screen
All kinds of colors and sizes, but you'll need to learn a bit of Lua.
