Donald Cameron (1829-1888)
When Donald Cameron was born on March 22, 1829, in Acharacle, Argyll, Scotland, his father, Alexander, was 24 and his mother, Catherine, was 19. He emigrated to Australia on the ship the Brilliant, under the Bounty Immigration Scheme, during the highland clearances. Donald was the eldest of ten children of CATHERINE MacPHERSON and ALEXANDER CAMERON (son of DONALD CAMERON and his first wife ANN MacPHERSON, who had emigrated with their family aboard the Brilliant in 1837, sailing from Tober Moray on the Isle of Mull .He married Catherine Martin in 1853 in Millers Forest, New South Wales, Australia. They had 13 children in 20 years. He was a staunch presbyterian and an engine driver. He died on September 10, 1888, in Carrington, New South Wales, Australia, at the age of 59.
Catherine Martin (1831-1904)
When Catherine Martin was born in 1831 in Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland, her father, William, was 24, and her mother, Euphemia, was 32. She emigrated to Australia on board the Heber in 1839 as part of the highland clearances and Bounty immigration scheme. She married Donald Cameron in 1853 in Millers Forest, New South Wales, Australia. They had 13 children in 20 years. She died on August 23, 1904, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, at the age of 73.

The Heber arrived from Liverpool via Cape of Good Hope, with 180 bounty emigrants all of whom have arrived in a healthy state. During her voyage five infants died, and eight were born. The emigrants chiefly consist of farming men and labourers and, although this vessel has been a long time on her passage, great credit is due to the Captain and Doctor for the cleanliness of every one on board.
