Twenty four trainee coxes attended South West's second annual Coxing Course last Saturday (March 28th)! Huge well done to all - we look forward to seeing the new coxes on the water again soon in upcoming events, practicing their new skills. With blustery conditions and waves in a normally calm Rosscarbery lagoon, they braved the waters to get their first real taste of coxing crews having spent time in the 'classroom' for an advance training; Huge thanks to trainers: Margaurite Deasy, Danny Hayes, Tadg Collins & Sean Bennett who put in a long day to lead two group training sessions; huge thanks to Rosscarbery Rowing Club for hosting and the Clubs who loaned their boats for use, Ross, Ring, Courtmacsherry and Kilmacabea; Thanks to the Celtic Ross Hotel for kindly allowing use of their meeting room and the 'volunteer' rowers who came along to assist! Well done everyone - getting ready for a great season ahead.
