We look forward to welcoming all clubs, competitors and supporters alike, to
Broadstrand Courtmacsherry on Sunday 24th July 2011.
The course will be laid out as per All Ireland ICRF distances with the U21, Junior, Senior
and Intermediate men’s races being multi-turn.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Club Captains & Cox’s Meeting 08.45.
Event Blessing 08.55
Racing Commences at 09.00. Race schedule is as follows:
As it is an early start secure overnight boat storage can be arranged for any club wishing
to drop boats to Courtmacsherry the evening before. Just let us know if you would like to
avail of this storage.
The prize giving, following official confirmation of the results, will be done in blocks
ongoing through out the day starting at 11am and the final prize giving will take place
immediately after the last race expected to be at 16.45.
Attached to this letter are aerial photographs of the area, which show the position of
Broadstrand relative to the village of Courtmacsherry. All clubs should approach
Courtmacsherry using the Timoleague road and proceed through the village of
Courtmacsherry. The event will be clearly sign-posted and stewards will be present on
all junctions from Courtmacsherry to the parking area. Parking is free and all people
attending must use the parking provided.
Vehicles transporting boats follow the same route to the event but will be directed by the
stewards to Broadstrand itself for unloading purposes. After unloading the boats these
vehicles will be directed to the parking area adjacent to the beach so that lifejackets etc
stored in the vehicle can be easily accessed during the day.
Crewing for the boats will take place from Broadstrand beach, which is located
approximately 150 meters from the event field, which will contain the starters platform,
prize giving area and the food service area. A wide array of food, tea, coffee and snacks
will be available from 9am through out the day.
We encourage all clubs to bring as many of their members, supporters, family and friends
along to the event and with this in mind we will be providing free entertainment for
children including bouncy castles throughout the day. With your help we will make
Coastal Rowing the centre piece to a family fun day out in Courtmacsherry
