The last few weeks might have appeared quiet for the South West Coastal Yawl Rowing Association however clubs have been busy. On the first of October the annual SWCYRA awards dinner took place in the Celtic Ross Hotel. The night was an enjoyable one and saw Castletownbere being awarded the shield for Club of the Year as voted for by their fellow clubs.
Then on Friday the 14th of October the SWCYRA AGM took place. President Mick Murphy and outgoing Chairperson Brian Whelton spoke briefly on the 2016 season and the year gone by. They commended all those who competed and helped in anyway with their clubs and the association. After this the main business of the night took centre stage as the election of offiers commenced. The results were:

After this incoming Chairperson Danny Hayes thanked his predecessor for his work over the previous year, welcomed his new committee and set the date for the 2017 fixtures meeting for Thursday, November 24th.
