Chaiban Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) has been providing professional and structural engineering, consultation, inspection,expert witness, forensic, litigation support and related management,consultation and design services with quality, innovation and speed to a broad clientele since 1990.
We specialize in providing innovative engineering solutions to complex type of projects and litigation support services. Our main strength is in structural and forensic building investigations, claim analysis, discovery, inspections and design. One example is the historical building on Andrews Ave in Fort Lauderdale. The 150 year old building's structural walls were collapsing and the FL state placed strict requirements on preserving the old building. An innovative design employing a unique structural system inside the envelope of the building exterior walls, was able to support all floor, roof,walls and foundation loads, while preserving the exterior old walls look and satisfying the State requirements.

CEC is divided by engineering disciplines into five areas:
Structural engineering (which includes: Structural inspections, design, Drainage, Utilities and Foundations);
Construction Management;
Material investigation, testing and analysis (3rd party);and
Expert Witness and forensic engineering, litigation support.
These divisions are divided into independent teams which enable the firm to quickly & efficiently arrive at innovative, practical and economical solutions. The firm has developed a quality control program with various team members and are encouraged towards high achievement and open communication. Any ideas that will benefit overall quality, innovation, cost and speed are put into action, and the team member is rewarded. The design-build strategy of the firm enables us to service clients and take projects from the planning and design stage to the construction and production stage. At the initial stages of planning and design, our network of contractors are encouraged to provide practical ideas that are integrated in the final design, thus adding value to our clients.
During the construction phase, any design revisions or changes encountered in the field will be communicated to our teams and a solution provided immediately. This obviously impacts the progress of construction, and ensures that our projects are completed at the promised time. The organization implements the latest computer technologies in finding the most efficient and economical solutions to civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical disciplines, as well as surveying. Such software includes CADD, Micro station, Primavera Scheduler and other design software.
Joseph B Chaiban,PE.SI.JD. structural engineer, Holds a degree in Structural and Civil Engineering from Northeastern University. His graduate studies include a structural emphasis at Florida Atlantic University and an executive MBA from Florida Atlantic University. Mr. Chaiban also earned a law degree (Juris Doctor at Law) in 2017 from Howard Taft Law School.Primary areas of expertise are forensic and structural engineering inspection and design, seismic analysis and design models using computer technology and matrixes. He has completed advanced research in concrete design of complex structures and foundations. Additionally, he has attained expertise in roadway and utilities design and construction management. Past employment includes prestigious firms such as Florida Department of Transportation; Turnpike Authority; MK Centennial; Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc.; Keith & Schnars, P.A.; and Metric Engineering.

Abel Crean, EIT, GC: Structural and forensic engineer who has extensive experience in structural and forensic engineering fields.Abel is a seasoned construction professional who subsequently obtained a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering, I am currently applying my experience and education to building inspections and Forensic Engineering, ranging from structural settlement or concrete restoration to wind or water claims. I am well versed in conducting assessments with scientific methodology, component testing, moisture mapping, and report preparation.
John Weber, Managing Partner: a seasoned engineer and manager with over 40 years of experience in engineering, testing methodology, management and innovative solutions to any project complex or simple, engineering inspections and evalautions.
Juan Garcia, Architectural design and cad drafting, has over 20 years of experience in design and cad drafting including general inspections and design.
