SF 2 story building CBS walls, floor slab and roof possible concrete hollow core precats or open
steel web joists and 3" concrete top, agreed to a fee of $8000 subject to limited scope, design
drawings, excluding AC energy calculations, Landcape plans, etc civil engineering by owner.
Marcin transmitted an email to code enforcment at PBBD that he retained CEC to prepare drawings
Met with Juan Garcia to discuss Job design services he will prepare MEP/Arch plans
12/29/2016 CEC prepared and emailed marcin and city a request for time extension, the drawings will take 1.00
approx. 6-8 weeks to start and finish if no complications or violations arise from Lot-work.

Hi Joseph:
on 12-12-17 I got a call from Marcin and Fatima about two points the city wants addressed:
1- The AC unit in the back it's to be shown in the side plan and some of the pavers to be removed as to match the landscape plan hedges around the AC.
2- the auxiliary structure in the back Marcin is telling me that this structure is 30' x 13'-0" , 4.5' from the east fence and 6.5' from the rear fence. The field measurements
I took are 32'-2 3/4" x 14'-2 1/2", 4'-3 1/2" from east the east fence and 6'-3" from rear fence.
the problem it's that the survey does not show any dimensions of the structure nor distances to the property lines, Marcin told me that the surveyor made a mistake
but I recommend the survey to be corrected to show this structure in the correct place.
The first point is no problem, but the second point a surveyor is the one with the instruments and skills to locate all items and buildings. I don't want to be responsible for the survey as this is not part of my scope or expertise

roof and framing plans, details and calculations, general notes, wind pressure and footing investigation
and design.

2/26/2018 Met with Marcin looked at building structure ( wood auxiliary structure) took quick measurements 1.00
from side and back set back, columns, beams 6x6 wood, height to beam= +-10 feet, trusses
spaced at+- 4-5 feet on center, no straps or clips, concrete base 10" dia, x unknown depth need
to dig soil and investigate depth and size, and perform more detailed measurments.
2/26/2018 Met with Nicole/fatima, signed check stub receievd payment check #7063, for the sum: $3,413.13 for 0.75
additional services performed by Juan and Joseph between October 2017 and Feb 2018 regarding
wood auxiliary city comments and consultations. ( Copy of this statement printed and signed
with Nicole- File). Spoke to Juan by phone, plan to meet and perform the field site measurements
later in the week, and continue with after the fact plans or drawings for Auxiliary structure and
show AC pad on site plan ( currently not shown, city comment).3-4:30 pm

with the wood auxiliary structure and planned drawings and recommended upgrades, based on
site inspection and measurements.

for Friday after 6 PM, after we receive code to open lock to front fence gate to the property.
3/9/2018 No gate code received , called Juan and re-scheduled site inspection for next week.
3/12/2018 Site inspection with Juan Garcia, Met with Fatima, she helped open the lock, after receiving the 3.50
gate code from Nichole earlier in the day. Performed auxiliary wood structure inspection and
measurements with Juan Garcia, such as columns, beams, spacing size, wood trusses and 2.15
roof deck construction assessment and materials used, including steel connectors, however
could not determine the size of post foundations since the post are embdeded in ground w/conc
updated preliminary plans, with notes, took several photos. Draft inspection report and sent
to Marcin and Fatima via email. (5:30 pm - 8:15 pm), 3.50 hours for Juan and Joseph.

4/13/2018 Meeting with Building official : Miguel Muniz, AIA , assistants Sabra and leslie along with Marcin 3.50
and Fatima in attendance, 3:00 -4:00 pm. The subject agenda mainly was related to permit
expiration now in March 2018. The records as shown by Nunez from city records show plans
submitted in April 2017, then several cycles of review (60 days/cycle) were documented by plans
review and comments. The record lacks the dates when plans were submitted to client, but a lag
in time from client receipt to submittal to city. Also, multiple comments were generated and
were increased from prior comments which subsequtntely were addressed but delays in coordination
(Sabra) with different departments ( zoning, bldg, structure, Elec, mechanical, landscape, etc) may
have caused some of the delays and expiration of the permit period, now Miguel suggested to
file a new application, with new permit number however, Fatima to work closely with Sabra to
transfer all plans, calcs, NOA's , and any other records from old to new permit, PE has to update
all relevant plan sheets and notes, calculations to reflect code in effect from 2014 to 2017, following
review of code differences and changes. After which Sabra will transfer same comments and respons
from old to new permit and any data submitted in an effort to expeidte review process and avoid
duplication. Mr. Nunez promised to do his best to expedite the review and have plan review
communicate directly and immediately with PE and client's staff ( Fatima). 30 days maximum.
Meeting lasted 1 hour and a good outcome was made.(Email to Marcin).

Marcin delivered the revised plans ( bldg & wood structure )for 2017 FBC and stamped NOA's
to the city for review. Spoke to Juan, he is reviewing the plans also sheets A-1 to P4.

tomorrow at the latest. CEC prepared partial response for each comment by plans examiner, in
word, review latest plans submitted to city review , sent by Email to Sabra Cogar, Miguel Nunez
and Marcin/Fatima. Call and discuss with Marcin. Reminded Marcin this is billable engineering per
signed addendum, sent Marcin an email reminder with copy of signed addendum for his review .

5/17/2018 Spoke to Floyd Kelly structural inspector at city, he advised that he made a mistake by writing 1.50
a comment about truss drawings from another project. He will remove this comment. Also, he
asked about the accessory structure footing enlargement and steel column at wood posts, he was
apologizing for the mistake in inputing comments about another Job, and was staisfied w/answers
will approve structural permit. Picked up revised sheets A1. E1 and E2, review signed and seal.

9/25/2018 Received a call from Marcin to schedule inspection #1 tomorrow 9/26/18, 12-2 pm via text message.
9/26/2018 Inspection #1: 12-2 pm, met with Marcin, inspected pad forms, still soil being backfilled in progress 2.00
no compaction, no steel bars, plumbing pipes installed at west side for bathroom, and main tie in to
sewer lines. Marcin and Joseph discussed the written agreement of payment by hourly rates at
$150 per hour, 2 hours minimum. Fatima requested to lower the fee in comparison to other project
Boca Bayou, but this project is not the same, and have a asigned agreement w/Marcin to perform
inspections and draft reports and review construction related doc's at the minimum rate of $150x 2
hrs minimum =$300/ Paid $300 check, sent conc mix design of 14 pages, later sent another email 1.00
9/27/2018 that it is the wrong design mix. (2.5-3.0 hours)
10/3/2018 Conf with Marcin, he wants to schedule a second inspection, gave a brif update on progress, soil 1.00
testing, survey of slab and footings, and survey certification, he will send a correct design mix for Rev
Joseph prepared an email with expected time to review, inspect and draft report, sent to fatim/Marcin
by email : fee range $450 to $750 depending on # of hours,. No response, no agreement.
Inspection schedule for Friday 10/5/2018 as late in the afternoon as possible,. Several exchange
of emails with Fatima, requesting to be reasonable and fair in billing engineer fee even though an
agreement was signed earlier in the year ( April 2018 for structural engineer inspections and reports).
Time: 3:00 to 4:30=1.5 hours.
10/3/2018 Review design mix, prepared notes and remarks sent to Marcin Via email. ( 1.0 hours) 1.00
sent 21 sheets for plotting at reprografia to be used for inspection set by the engineer, review
foundation plans for inspection preparation to refresh engineer memory for rebars and size, location.
10/4/2018 Conf. with Marcin, regarding the inspection and progress of construction ( pad and rebars), schedule 0.50
city inspection at 3:30 pm, for pads, picked up plot plans at reprografia ($40 cost to client), not in 0.50
contract.prepared email and transmitted to Fatima no response nor agreement for hourly fee $150/hr
10/4/2018 Anticipated foundation and steel bar inspection 3-6 pm. (3 hours includes draft report and review 3.00
doc's to be submitted and transmitted by Fatima as outlined in emails.
