Book Spine Poetry Agenda
- Handout Book Spine Poetry Defined & 4 Steps to Success Sheets (The 4 steps came from Travis Jonker’s post on the ALSC Blog. Find it here.)
- Handout Notebook Paper & Pencils
- Show kids pictures of my book spine poems
- Remind them not to forget picture books and nonfiction books when composing their poems.
- Release them into the stacks.
- After they create one or two poems, let them use the books everyone has pulled thus far to create new poems.
- Take pictures of the poems they create.
