Meeting Notes August 14, 2019

Notes from Canton meeting August 14th


  • 5 persons were present including Catherine, Kim and myself.
  • Meeting dates have changed as we look for a more permanent location and dates. We will be meeting on 3rd Wednesdays in Bryson city NC at the Marianna Black Library at 150 Academy Street, Bryson City NC 28713. The meeting for October is still being discussed with WOW being a thing. We have discussed the idea of having it at war but that may get in the way of fun stuffs?. The third Wednesday of the month at 6:45 in Bryson City at the Library when we can reserve it is the new arrangement for meeting in the future.

September 18th, October 23rd, November 20th, December 18th.

  • A&S dates for things like Sheet walls, Scribal stuff, leather work shop leather covered drinking vessels, and bamboo arrow making are things on the table for the near future starting with Scrolls at the Holt residence on the 8th day of September 11-2 pm. Look for updates from our MOA in the near future.
  • We discussed the idea of becoming a Canton and is everyone still in agreement. Conclusion-We are still in agreement and think this is a positive thing and we gathered signatures for our membership support petition. Also started the new Branch application and and started checking thing off the list for our Full Branch status.
  • Anyone looking to sign the petition must be a paid member and let us know and we will make it happen.
  • Looking for Canton support at the next Hawkwood meeting. We will be discussing our moving to full status and supporting signatures from Hawkwood and Stormwall.
  • Fun stories from war were told. Hats off for our weary travelers, it sounds like much fun was had. Vivats!!
  • We talked more about developing a calendar of public events happening in Sylva, Murphy, Franklin, Bryson City, Andrews, Nantahala in order to look ad demos in the future.
