Dog Parks

I do not believe dog parks are a good thing. Most dogs would prefer not to socialize with a bunch of strange dogs. They are an excellent way to teach your dog aggressive and guarding behaviour, and a breeding ground for disease transmission. Instead we recommend good training classes, and forming your own play groups with known dogs. As working Golden retrievers, my dogs want not just unstructured free running exercise, but mentally stimulating activities. Their minds and bodies must be given a chance to work in order for them to be settled, balanced dogs.
