Sterre--it's derived from the Dutch for "star" and stars are exactly what my Golden Retrievers are.We live in the country near Delho, in beautiful Norfolk County Ontario, half an hour from the waterfowling mecca of Long Point.
I have had an interest in Goldens since the early 1990's, obtaining my first as a pet in 1995. Tucker (Huxtables Sawney Tucker) started my love affair with the breed, and I've been hooked ever since!  Since then we have also become heavily involved in retriever hunt tests, and I have been making breeding decisions to enhance working traits while retaining essential breed type.  These working breedings are now the primary focus of our breeding program.
In 2002 I decided that Tucker needed a friend, and so Juniper came into our lives thanks to Nancy Fieder of Amberwood Reg'd (Canada). Unfortunately, I lost Tucker very shortly thereafter.  Juniper was a great consolation through that sadness,  and when I decided to go for another Golden I absolutely wanted another Emma kid from Nancy--especially one sired by Jerry. And that's how Winter entered our lives.  Since then Breeze has joined our family from Trowsnest Goldens in New Hampshire, and in 2008 she had her first litter, adding her son Butch to the family.  In the fall of 2010 she had her second litter, sired by Belvedere's Triple Threat MH *** and daughter Bonnie stayed.  In the fall of 2009 Chrissy aka Kiki, a ruby Cavalier came to stay with us.  Most recently, from a breeding of Breeze's daughter Desi to Ch Windrows Ducks in a Row SH WCX CDX, little Wings has joined the horde.  In the fall of 2015, our Bonnie had her first litter, and her daughter Tana has now joined the pack.  This little girl has a lot of potential.
My primary focus has been participating with my dogs in the conformation, hunt, and obedience aspects of the fancy.  I am a member in good standing of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Golden Retriever Club of Canada, Golden Retriever Club of Greater Toronto,   Long Point Retriever Training Club, Horseshoe Hunting Retriever Club, and Mountain Valley Retriever Training Club.  I am also a licensed CKC Hunt and WC test judge, and have judged AKC hunt tests in the past.
We have a Facebook Group--Click here to go to Sterre Goldens Facebook and apply to join!

I also do braiding work in kangaroo and paracord to make leashes and lanyards for field, obedience and show.  Information on our braiding work can be found on our leatherwork site--Click here.
