Advance reading

I almost always recommend that participants in my workshops at FGC Gathering do some advance reading in preparation.  At the start of the week, at least one person always asks me, "Did you really mean that?" or "Did we really have to do the pre-reading?"

I recognize that our lives are busy and that many of us are caught up in a rush when getting ready for Gathering.

I do promise you, though, that your workshop experience will be enhanced by doing some preparation in advance.

At the minimum, please read Bill Taber's "Four Doors to Meeting for Worship" (or the summary listed below) AND Stasa Morgan-Appel's "'Four Doors to Meeting for Worship' from a Quaker Witch's Perspective."

You are still welcome to participate in the workshop if you haven't done any pre-reading at all.  :)

2.  Stasa Morgan-Appel's "'Four Doors to Meeting for Worship' from a Quaker Witch's Perspective"

This book remains a classic introduction:

Starhawk.  The Spiral Dance: The Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the Great Goddess. Harper, 1979, 1989, 1999.  (Any edition.)

Additional books:

NightMare, M. Macha, Starhawk, and the Reclaiming Collective.  The Pagan Book of Living and Dying: Resources and Rituals for Honoring Death in the Circle of Life.  Harper, 1997.
