Event Chair Job Description
Position Summary: Serve as the Event Monitor for the Annual Gala, overseeing the event from start to finish.
Recruit, motivate and lead a committee of volunteers, plan the event, obtain sponsorships, secure silent auction items and recruit attendees.

General understanding of the goals and ideals of Start at the Foundation Project and the Annual Gala Event
Roles & Responsibilities:
Recruit volunteers to assist in developing and executing the event.
Actively solicit contacts that would help contribute to the Annual Gala Event’s success.
Work with Start at the Foundation Project Development staff to schedule committee meeting dates, develop agendas and facilitate committee meetings.
Communicate regularly with staff and event volunteers and monitor progress of planning (using timeline) to ensure tasks are completed.
Hold committee members accountable for their tasks and the overall goals of the event.
Work with Start at the Foundation Project Development staff to manage and adhere to approved budget.
Work with Start at the Foundation Project Development staff and committee to define tasks and assign volunteers to roles.
2019 Anticipated Schedule:
Monthly 1 hour meetings – March to June
Biweekly meetings – July
Weekly meetings – August
Event Date – Tuesday, August 14th
