We opened with number 24 Welcome, as is traditional for us.
Joanne--122 All is Well. By chance, it turned out all well.
John--49 Old Hundredth. A favorite. Keep in mind for the opening round at the All Day Singing.
Betty--59 Holy Manna. Familiar.
Suzanne--81 Beach Spring. An old favorite. Maybe another possibility for the All Day Singing opening?
Carol--155 Northfield.
Delynne--86 Poland
Dawn--282 I'm Going Home. Another favorite.
Stephen--254 Rose of Sharon (as planned). If not the best we have done it, the certainly the most enjoyable
Joanne--395 New Bethel. We were reading this one, but it turned out nicely.
Break--snacks and business
- Add a second day to the All Day Sing to make it worth out-of-towners' while? Shenandoah? Circular Church? Yeas all around.
- Is there a sound system available at JWUMC for announcing song numbers? Suzanne to inquire.
- Pay JWUMC early
- Delynne's banana nut cookies and chocolate raspberry brownies were angelic.(ssj)
John--Shenandoah 253 My Native Land. John plans to lead this at Hoboken on St Patrick's day, so this was good practice.
Suzanne--312 Restoration. Nice. Maybe another possibility for the All Day Singing opening?
Carol--106 Ecstasy. A little confusion over words vs shapes. Third time's the charm.
Betty--111 Journey Home. Unfamiliar but turned out alright
Delynne--503b Lloyd. Very harmonic.
Dawn--230 Converting Grace. She is singing this in church tomorrow with two friends so this was good practice.
Rob (in absentia)--269 Bear Creek. We sent him a recording. Hope he liked it.
Joanne--45 New Britain, SIX verses. Maybe another possibility for the All Day Singing opening?
John--47b Idumea. Maybe another possibility for the All Day Singing opening?
We closed with a lovely rendition of A Christian Farewell (347) and a word of prayer, as is a tradition for us.
Warm fuzzies were felt all around.
Class was dismissed at about 4:02.
