Minor Planets are planets:

1. That orbits around its host star
2. Do not have enough mass to assume Hydrostatic Equilibrium or spheroid (nearly-spherical) shape
3. Are not gravitationally dominant in their region in space

This definition is set out by IAU (International Astronomical Union).
