It shows a chronology of attacks on morals. But one can ask, what are morals? Are they important? Isn't it sufficient to take any personal liberties one wishes, as long as one does no harm to others?
Morals take on some life when three things happen. 1) When you meet someone whose life has been ruined by bad morals. 2) When you study on your own to see what is evil and what is good. 3) When you offer advice to someone.
What does the Bible say about morals? Here is a sampling. Compare this with how modern, Western man lives and what you see on-line and in movies and T.V.
Note: being righteous before God does not come from works, you can't be righteous by observing a checklist. Righteousness requires faith in Jesus and accepting his offer of forgiveness.
Mark 7:21-23 words of Jesus
1 Thessalonians ch. 4-5
Abstain from sexual immorality. Not in passion of lust; do not defraud a brother. (Many of the time were well known to show passion of lust.) Have faith and brotherly love. Lead a quiet life. Mind your own business. Work. Live so outsiders respect you. Comfort each other. If something is evil, abstain from it.
Do not return evil for evil, not even toward outsiders. See to it that your brothers do this, too. In other words, people who are faithful to God do not have complete freedom of thought and action, each person is responsible for the reputation of the church. Avoid one of the failings of ancient Israel, "each man did what was right in his own eyes."
1 Timothy ch. 3
A bishop should be husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, hospitable, not violent, quarrelsome, covetous, prideful, or greedy, children in submission in your own home in light of having order within the church.
Romans ch. 12
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” The Old Testament quote is Deuteronomy 32:35.
Several places in New Testament: no bribery.
1 Thessalonians ch. 5
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that committs fornication sins against his own body. What? Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Missing out on kingdom of God are fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, those who covet, drunkards, those who revile (contemptuous, abusive), extortioners. Verse 11: accept Jesus' forgiveness. Galations 5:20 has a similar list; sorcery (magic, supernatural power other than through the Spirit), hatred, jealousy, dissension, murder.
Ephesians ch. 5 There must not be even a hint of sexual immorality in the church. (This says something about Roman Catholic priests who molested children [mainly boys] in one parish, were transferred for cause to another parish, and repeated the offense. 1985 is when such cases began to be reported in publications.)
The Ten Commandments Exodus ch. 20
These are for Jews, to some extent. How much is open to study. The entire 600-something laws received by Moses are for Jews, and some are for all people.
Be aware for what might become a god to oneself, displacing Jehovah God. No physical idol. Not profaning the name of the Lord. Making holy the Jewish Sabbath, not working on the Sabbath and not making others work. Honor your parents. Do not murder, be adulterous, steal, falsely testify in court, or covet what your neighbor has.
Philippians 2:15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world
Proverbs ch. 1 They hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord ch. 14 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. ch. 14 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
The modern attitude, doing whatever you like as long as it doesn't hurt other people, is at odds with the Bible's morals.
The sexual revolution starting in the 1960s, which is driven in large part by sensuousness in media for profit, is against Bible morals. But the sex revolution is also driven by men and women who are hedonists, apart from sex-for-profit.
Hedonism is pleasure or happiness as the chief good in life, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hedonism. If a person does nothing apart from pleasure seeking, he is a hedonist.
In a moral vacuum, sex at college has so many drawbacks that colleges are driven to have codes of conduct. http://studentconduct.osu.edu/page.asp?id=42

Civilization must have a religious or moral framework that promotes unity and provides a model for cooperation and social cohesion. In most instances, a popular religion emerges that attracts a majority of citizens and serves as the anchor for the society’s moral guidelines. As historian Will Durant pointed out, “There is no significant example in history, before our time, of a society successfully maintaining moral life without the aid of religion.”
When people deny what the Bible says about man being made in the image of God, and deny that God loves each person, what you have left is atheistic evolution, where a person is no more valuable or meaningful than a opossum or some algae (because everyone dies and that is the end of it all), or the Eastern traditions, Hinduism with its endless cycles, Buddhism with its jettisoning of expectations, etc.

visions of anarchy in action; visions of a world built by the voluntary actions of individuals, without nation states, without arbitrary lines or colors on a map. A world where anything is possible: Peace, Culture, Justice, Wisdom & Progress.
Robert De Groot, an atheist, has an interesting contrast between morals of Quran and Bible.
"Quran starts off peacefully and gradually becomes more hateful and aggressive. When Muhammed started preaching in Mecca, he had very little power and thus preached tolerance. When he left Mecca he had about 200 followers, but in Medina his religion gained momentum. As he gradually developed a strong army, the Quran changed its tone. It ends with chapters 5 and 9 which express an all-out declaration of war against the infidel world.
The Bible is the opposite: all the antisocial elements are in the Old Testament, while the New Testament is (almost) entirely clean...If Quran verses contradict, then generally the last one overrules...
Islam simply has a lot of doctrines which are clear cut. There is just no room for reinterpretation to make them fit the civilized world. A verse like 4:24; "Forbidden are also married women, except those your right hand possesses..." makes it clear that Muslims are allowed to have sex with their female slaves (married or not). We have verse 4:34, which says outright that your wife can be beaten if she's disobedient. 5:8; which says that thieves should have their hand cut off, or 5:51 which says: "do not take the Christians and Jews as friends." It is practically impossible to incorporate such explicit teachings into a human-rights-governed value system...
Islam is very stuck. I'm skeptical of it ever going through an enlightenment. Although many Muslims are following a form of Islam-light today, due to Western influence in the past 200 years, the traditional interpretation will remain. In a theological discussion between a moderate Muslim and a conservative Salafist, the Salafist explanation will usually clearly be more plausible.
Nevertheless, the vast majority of bad teachings from Islam are not from the Quran. They come from the Hadith and Sirat...
The Hadith contain stories in which Muhammad tortures people until they die (Bukhari 8:82:796), where he has somebody killed for criticizing him (4:52:271), orders stoning as punishment for adultery (2:23:413), bans music (7:69:494), and this list goes on and on. Muslims can not agree with each other about many questions of morality, because they can't agree which of these stories are true and which are invented."
2016 October Theme: do what you want, as long as it doesn't hurt others...or maybe despite hurting others...https://www.yahoo.com/celebrity/jim-carrey-sued-cathriona-whites-214000624.html Comedian and actor Jim Carrey sued in L.A. Girlfriend Cathriona White died from a mix of drugs. Her mother files a lawsuit about Carrey's possible role in her daughter's death. The lawsuit mirrors claims by White's estranged husband, Mark Burton, which allege that Carrey knowingly gave White three sexually transmitted diseases and then lied to her about testing positive. Alleged is that Carrey obtained "highly addictive" illegal drugs under the false name "Arthur King" and provided prescription drugs to White, knowing that she was prone to depression and had previously attempted to take her own life.
