Class theme 10th of January 2010 (class notes from a class member)
When Grapes become wine...
What does it mean to take responsibility for the self?
It starts with the intention to be sincere and humble in relationship to something higher than oneself.
Boundaries: expand the idea of who one thinks one is.
What needs expansion? The ego contract when one feels small when one holds on to one's limitations. Whenever one must let go of something that is ego death through which the true self is unveiled.
Expand boundaries by being more: open, forgiving, loving, kind, compassionate understanding, non judgemental, patient, caring etc.
Heart quality
To be patient and tolerant and non judgemental/to be able to do that for another person one first needs to know how to do that for oneself.
One needs to stay compassionate with where one is/ through one's love one is able to transform/with love more pain can be tolerated/ sweetness of love is the healing power with which to shed duality.
Friendship requires three main things:
Understanding without words
Disinterested attitude meaning no interest in getting something back
Overlooking; everyone has rough edges, it does not matter, overlooking means forgiveness
Grace of God =Friendliness of God
It comes from a love from friend to friend
Quotes of Saki
Love gives us the power to transform; when love is present with the self one can tolerate more pain and this gives one the power to transform
In the sweetness of love lies the healing power to shed the duality
Questions Saki asked during the class:
How can one recognize spiritual maturity?
When needs expansion?
Silver rule for the coming month:
Consider duty as sacred as religion
What does duty mean to you? What does sacred mean to you? What does religion mean to you?
