Having taught VLSI design flow for seven years at IIITD and worked for industry leaders for more than sixteen years, I have always felt a need for a book covering the entire design flow. Though there are excellent textbooks for specific design tasks, no textbook comprehensively covers all three aspects of the design flow: implementation, verification, and testing. This textbook is written to fulfill this objective.
"Introduction to VLSI Design Flow" will help students develop a holistic view of the design flow through a well-sequenced set of chapters on logic synthesis, verification, physical design, and testing. The concepts are explained with the help of more than 300 examples, illustrations, and figures that enable a student to understand and independently comprehend the subject. Each major chapter of this book is supported by activities that students can perform using open-source tools and gain hands-on design experience.
