REJUVENATION OF THE DEAD TREE
He took rest in Africa for some time. Satan brought troubles through colleagues which he overcame through prayer. Many of his friends migrated to other countries and he felt lonely. About six months passed like this. Because of foreign exchange restriction, country suffered great difficulties such as lack of essential commodities and gas as they imported everything from Europe and Asia. People were not interested in agriculture or technical skills even though government offered free university education and free land and fertilizer for agriculture. With prayer he tried to find job in other prosperous African countries. One day all on a sudden Shahjahan spoke to him through telephone, "One organization in Singapore is interested in considering you for a position of occupational therapist. I will send you necessary application forms". This was a great surprise to him. However he joined in fervent prayer with Shahjahan and mom for this job. Again Shahjahan telephoned, "Singapore employer would like you to come for an interview. What do you think?" He replied, "A trip to Singapore would cost approximately Rs 18,000 to20,000 and if government denies work permit it will be a waste. If employer meets travel expense, I am ready to come for interview. If it is God's will....He will give us the job or if it is not His will we wouldn't get it ". Shajahan agreed to this suggestion and consulted the employer.
Shahjahan tried many years to find job opportunity in Singapore for Omar. This time they fasted and prayed. Shahjahan informed Omar that employer offered the position and applied for his visa. They prayed, "Lord! As the servants eyes are always looking at the hands of the master....so we keep looking at You for help. I lift up my eyes unto the hills from where help comes. He shall not allow my feet to stumble...Wait upon the Lord...He shall bring about your attempt to success. Delight in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Those who look upon the Lord shall be triumphant". He firmly held on to the promises of God. Within a month's period Shahjahan telephoned, "Singapore government issued visa for you...this is God's miracle. Employer wants you to join duty as soon as possible. When will you be able to come here?" Omar couldn't believe what he heard and he wondered whether it was a dream or reality. He replied, "Yes! This is nothing but God's miracle. It will take few weeks for me to make necessary arrangements here. I will soon let you know the date of my arrival". Shahjahan offered help to buy travel ticket for Omar and forward it to him though travel agent. Mom praised God for His help. Even though there were few difficulties in organizing his final arrangements the Lord helped him through all. In Africa, people required government permission to take photos even on the streets ...as they were afraid of military attack from South Africa. He wanted to have some photos of his work place and got permission from authorities. Just the very day of his flight, he took photos; some secret police objected it and wanted to seize the film. After brief discussion they allowed him to keep it. He praised God for this deliverance. That afternoon he flew to India and changed his flight at Bombay. He didn't know that his mom and brother were waiting to see him outside airport and flew to Singapore through Chennai after waiting an hour in the plane. He felt sad as he traveled through India without visiting family.
As aircraft took off from Chennai, he looked through the window at the city during the midday and thought about the days he walked to Periyakulam because he didn't have 15 paise for city bus. How wonderful is God...He changed his life tremendously. These thoughts crossed his mind as he heard soft tune inside airplane. Shahjahan received him at Singapore airport with great joy.
The Lord blessed his job and they attended Calvary Charismatic Center. Shahjahan suggested, "We must make arrangements for mom to join us here...she has been working for this family until today ceaselessly...atleast now she must have some rest...if she is in India she won't be able to find rest". Omar agreed to this idea. In the mean time Satan brought a great trouble to Omar and Shahjahan helped with this situation very much; they asked mom to pray for this and in prayer, God showed her a vision that there was a fruit basket with lots of beautiful ripped fruits and He said, "I heard your prayers, I shall deliver your children. Be not afraid. I will be with them". On hearing this both brothers were encouraged. One Sunday during service some one prophesied, "My children, you are afraid of the mountain in front of you but you do not see the angels behind it. You will not see this mountain here after". Another Sunday the Lord prophesied again, "I love you. Be not afraid'. These prophesies became a strong support for them. They invited mom to Singapore and she replied that she will come later as her help is very much needed in family and Mytheen had gone on tour to Europe. After some time they received a shocking news that their uncle Raju slept in the Lord unexpectedly and mom was greatly shaken by this. Uncle was mom's younger brother who did Lord's ministry on full-time basis in Andhra Pradesh.
One day as he preached gospel on the streets to a group of Hindus, he knelt down and prayed. At that very moment he had heart attack and died in the praying posture. People thought he was in silent prayer and finally realized that he entered glory. Later during funeral many God's servants testified that he proclaimed gospel in that region like no one else. In few months time Jesus freed Omar from troubles and Mytheen returned to India. Mom committed family responsibility into his hands and flew to Singapore.
She was delighted to see both sons. It was six years since she saw Shahjahan. It was Singapore's national day and so they went round the city and beaches to witness celebration. She was excited to notice little India where there were so many flower shops, grocery stores, little restaurants just like in India which made her to feel very much at home. They worshipped in Tamil service at Calvary Charismatic Center. It was located in an old fair ground having about ten cinema theaters and they were transformed into churches for various language groups such as Tamil, Philippines, Korea, English, Teochew, Mandarin and so on. Many people committed themselves to Jesus Christ every week and they sent missionaries to Europe, America and Asia. This church was started in early seventies by a small group of Christians in a hotel room which God enlarged tremendously. Most of the congregation were young people.
Later according to mom's suggestion they worshipped in another church. They had wonderful time of worshipping the Lord and living together. They went out for walking frequently to Orchard road where most of the shopping centers were located.
Mom marveled, "How wonderfully the Lord fulfilled His promises, He made ten to fifteen years ago. Remember...He said that we will suffer like Job but the Lord will bless us with double portion. Today we see the fulfillment of this promise in our lives. It's purely God's grace and we are not worthy. When He blessed us we must not focus our attention on blessings alone forgetting the Almighty". After both of them went to work, every day she spent her time in prayer from 9 am to 12 noon. She did not attend to anything during those times including phone calls. Believers requested her prayers for life problems and the Lord answered her prayers. One family suffered troubles caused by a drunkard relative which God stopped. In another family some one backslid in Christian life and the Lord brought him back to the church. God brought peace between a couple who were not talking to each other for years. Both sons and church were glad to note how Jesus used her in Singapore. She never missed any meetings or activities organized by church. She reached out every one in church with love. Subsequently she began to experience tiredness in her body and her sons encouraged her to take rest by reducing attendance in church activities; but she said, "Marriage and funeral happen only once in life time; we must attend and glorify God in such occasions. We must not neglect it because of tiredness". The Lord blessed her with visa for years. She rejoiced in attending conventions and sharing testimonies for the Lord in Malaysia and Singapore.
