SUDDEN INSPIRATION
Omar had to memorize many English essays which took nearly two hours for each. When there were class tests, students engaged in memorizing as soon as lecture class was over; even then time was not enough. Since Omar accepted Jesus Christ as his savior ,daily he went to prayer meeting around 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: after having dinner, by the time he started to study it was about 8 p.m.., in the end there was one little time for him to study. A question popped up in his mind....is it wise to go to prayer or to learn? Which of this is important? Prayer group students said, "If we spend time in prayer....God will give us wisdom to learn things faster and easier; even if we have exams we should not miss prayer. If we neglect prayer, it means we are not giving first place to God...but to this worldly studies; studies become our idol, all idols are an abomination to God". So Omar gave first place to prayer, bible meditation etc., having less time for his studies; during the exams, in those short time he had to learn lots of things. Other students said, "What Omar! Even after learning day and night we are unable to finish our portions...but you go to mountains to pray.....you will fail in exams". Omar didn't bother about their comments and replied.. "If we pray to God He'll help us to pass exams". He had time to read through his lessons once; next day he wrote exams and when results came out, his classmates exclaimed, "You are lucky...even though you go for prayer daily spending much of your time, you passed tests with good marks...we studied day and night but didn't even get that many marks". He replied, "We give importance to prayer; because Bible says, "You seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will be added unto you(Math 6: 33)....only God helped me and I didn't get these marks out of my ability". They couldn't understand it and asked "if you just simply sit in a corner and call God, will God give you marks". Omar explained again, "No ..it's not like that, first you should not neglect your prayer and if you study rest of the time God will give you wisdom not to forget what you learnt". Omar was thrilled to see the amazing memory power God gave him and was not hesitant to attend prayer group, even during the final exams. The zeal for God was burning within his heart and it was a puzzle for his classmates.
Omar committed final exams in the hands of God; God didn't forsake him. Some times there were heavy down pour with lightening and thunder; even though they got very wet prayer group students tarried in prayer. They said "If it rains will you quit going to work? Likewise we must also go for prayer". God protected them from all harm and sicknesses.
