DRUNKEN DRIVER AND DANCING BUS
Manarkadu convention was a very blessed one; though preaching, singing and praying was in Malayalam. Since he knew truths of the Bible he understood them. As they toured around Kottayam, it was such a beautiful city like one great green garden. After convention missionaries returned to Kodaikanal with others The next day pastor Stephen and Omar traveled by bus to Vadugapatti. There were only five or six passengers in the bus and a drunk driver drove the bus recklessly. As pastor and Omar sat in the last row they were thrown in all directions. Omar all the time prayed for safety.
Bus ran very fast in the mountain slopes along a narrow road with many hair-pin bends. On one side was steep mountain and on the other side was deep valley. In order to warn the driver not to fall into the valley, there were big barrels arranged in a line along the edge of the road. At every bent bus almost hit the edge and the passengers shouted at the driver in vain. Finally bus hit a barrel and threw it in the valley; people thought the bus fell into the valley and they screamed; the driver put sudden break preventing the bus from rolling down the valley below. Omar thanked God for preventing the accident. All the passengers scolded the driver and afterwards he drove the bus carefully. Omar reached house. It was locked. He knocked at the door several times but there was no response. He assumed may be his mom went to the neighbors and waited there.
