WEDDING IN SWEDEN
After few years, Mytheen's marriage was arranged in Sweden. Mom went for marriage with Saleem and Ayub. Mytheen informed Omar that travel arrangements were done for him to arrive for marriage in time. When Omar checked it out with travel agent, he found out that he would get a reservation only after two weeks. This created problem; because according to the schedule, he should meet a Christian at Copenhagen and this brother would take him to Sweden. Omar decided to go ahead with two weeks late reservation and to inform Mytheen regarding the change of date of travel so that Mytheen would do necessary arrangements accordingly. When he tried to contact Mytheen, no one was there to respond; probably everyone was gone away. So the Christian brother in Denmark did not find Omar in time. The travel date approached close by. Omar became anxious as he had tickets only unto Denmark. He received introduction letters from Assembly of God church and Salvation Army so that in case he was stranded at Copenhagen he would approach them for help. He was so much worried about whole situation. While he was lying in his bed, a verse in the Golden Text calendar, "Wait for the Lord and He shall redeem you" came alive. His faith was strengthened and continued to pray for God's assistance to resolve this situation. Just few days before his flight, he was able to contact Mytheen and he assured to make alternate arrangements to continue his travel from Denmark. Omar was happy about this situation. Then he tried to get Denmark-Sweden ticket from travel agent in vain and again he repeatedly strove to contact his brother without success. Finally two days before traveling, he managed to get in touch with Mytheen's host in Sweden who informed him, "We have reserved a ticket already for you. When you arrive at Denmark you can pick it up at air-port. We tried to inform you but unable to get through. Sorry!". This brought great relief. Yes...the Lord's promise came true and Jesus truly saved him from this difficult situation.Â
Due to financial restriction in Africa, Omar could not take ample foreign currency with him except limited amount which was good for taxi. According to Aeroflot route, he traveled to Moscow and stayed there for three days before going to Denmark. The Lord enabled him to meet some new friends in Moscow who volunteered to take him around Moscow. He praised God for his wonderful provision. One of them also promised, "If your ticket at Denmark is not ready...you can come with us by train to Sweden and can contact your brother from our home". The Almighty was wonderful. On arriving Denmark, travel agent first denied any reservation made for him. After repeatedly checking the fax reservations, finally she found out the reservation for him. By God's grace he reached Sweden and rejoiced seeing the newly married couple with others. Then he toured across Sweden in a Gospel ship. The Lord granted him a safe return journey to Africa and as he entered his residence he saw the verse, "Wait for the Lord and He shall redeem you".
