I'm soil scientist, but my background is geography. I started my work at Nicolaus Copernicus University in 1998. At present, I’m assistant professor in the Department of Soil Science and Landscape Management, Faculty of Earth Science NCU. My main scientific interests are: classification, genesis and geography of soils (especially salt-affected soils), landscape geochemistry and hydrochemistry. I got my habilitation in 2014 in the field of Earth science. The habilitation thesis was entitled: "Genesis, properties and systematics position of brackish marsh soils in the Baltic coastal zone". My main teaching subjects are: Chemistry of the Earth, Soil science and soil geography, Hydrochemistry, Computer techniques in soil science, Geochemistry of the landscape and Global soil resources. I'm a Chairman of Bydgoszcz-Toruń branch of Polish Soil Science Society (since 2015) and a member of the jury of the Regional Geographical Olympic Games (since 2007).
