Coming back to the body
Coming back to the body
Strength arises when we release stress and awaken connection
The body naturally expresses mobility and strength when we support its stability and hydration system.
I specialize in helping individuals resource around fascia hydration and stability training, an aspect of selfcare and sports performance often overlooked in favor of healthy eating, strength and mobility training.
These movement sessions are both complementary health treatments and learning experiences. Sessions will have a direct impact on your wellness and help you develop skills to read your body's signals and rehydrate.
Once you understand the principles you will be able to creatively use neuro fascial selfcare as part of your daily routines and sports training with short treatments that light up your fascia and hydrate.
AWAKENING THE SPINE
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING SESSIONS
Learning is gradual, starting from the basics 5 step hyration routine, understandign compression and lenghtenign techniques for hydration and selfcare and progressing to becoming aware of personal compensations and how to adapt for them to gain the full effect of selfcare treatments. Successful hydration is a practise that evolves and involves trouble shooting poses and refining gestures.
We continuously train our awareness to pick up on sensations, to allow shifts and notice ways to adapt that bring about fluid flow on a cellular level. In the process we might invite sleeper muscles. Our goal is to rebalance our metabolism, release energy and awaken and integrate the spine, the seat of our central nervous system with our periphery.
Listening to the body is an essential skill we practise together with learning to read the sensations of the body with a focus on hydration needs. We use adaptations to allow each person to enter and experience the exercise without pain or strain. Challenging the body helps remodel tissue but you do not want to be going into compensations or stress response before you can resource the connections of the body.
We study the systems of the body and explore our capacity to connect with and facilitate healthy function, agency and desire.
The pracitse uses gentle hydration techniques from the Melt Method and somatic modalities and some rehab excercises especially around encouarging rib to find support over the pelvis and the base of our support to relieve shoulder and neck tension. Releasing the neck and lower back are part of the selfcare treatments but the method emphasizes that release comes only after you have stimulated hydration.
You will be encouraged to begin a dialogue and life long practise that is based on self care, support and awareness of our environment.
Coming back to the body is a huge resource. I teach movement with awareness and applied understanding of how we can rebalance the nervous system to better regulate postural tone, organ function and sleep.
By using neuro fascial interventions to calm the stress response we release tension in the nervous system which then downregulates tension in overworked muscles and recruits sleeper muscles with better distribution of force and effort through the body and into space connecting to others.
If you live in perpetual stress response and cannot cycle through various modes of nervous system regulation you can begin to exhaust the resources of your body and get into pre pain symptoms.
Pre pain symptoms include problems falling asleep or waking up tired, indigestion, postural disbalances, brain fog, stiffness. Living with a nervous system in a disregulated state begins to inhibit cellular repair and leads to low grade inflammation in the fascial body where collagen becomes dehydrated and can cause chronic pain issues.
Hydration helps you refind comfort
Embodiment
Coming back to the body is a sentient way of dealing with trauma and dissociation. Trauma is a big experience that overstimules the nervous system beyond its resources to process and integrate that experience so that its impact on the nervous system can be replayed in the body through patterns of muscle tension and hormonal threat responses.
Dissociation
Tension masks sensory feedback and can cause neurological loss of connection with that body part. Organizing in space efficiently relies on a well hydrated fascia so that neuro signaling in the body travels to all parts of our system.
Safety
Embodiment is a way of practising coming back to the body. We stimulate the neuro receptors by moving and in doing so reconnect to the body. Slowing down and feeling, clarifies awareness and opening up space for new kinetic choices are safe ways to awakenign embodiment. Working with fascia, the support system of our body helps build up our resources for safe movement and enhances strength and mobility..
Releasing Stuck Stress
Dealing with stress is tricky. It settles into the body and inhibits fluid flow in the tissues where your nervous system lives affecting the signaling and decision making processes of your body. Hydrating fascia supports cognition, posture, joint health, quality of sleep and digestion.
Working with awareness - somatics
We work with a practise of moving our attention and learning to rest it gently on specific parts of the body without creating tension in the process. In effect we are refining our skill to work with focus and connection in movement.
The benefit from this type of small range practise with awareness is that is helps come back to the body and reconnect isolated parts of ourselves that we have gotten in the habit of not using because we effort into compensations without enough resources and overuse other parts. Practises that use movement with awareness are called somatic.
Rebalancing the Neuro Core
Rebalancing the neuro core has a direct effect on improving autonomic nervous system functions like digestion, sleep and posture which are regulated by the nervous system's perception of safety. Learnign how to stimulate sensations of safety and stability in the body can help rebalance the nervous system to have dynamic range between the more resources hungry mode of functioning with physical and mental exertion and switchign back to regulating the body to privlidge resting, digestion and procreation. We practise rebalancing the neuro core in the safety of training sessions so we have those skills operational when needed.
When training with me we will be learning to address the vagus nerve and the psoas muscles to naturally improve how you organize your body over your base of support and to rebalance the respiratory, endocrine and metabolic system that gets disturbed when we get stuck in fight, flight or freeze mode. Being able to toggle the nervous system to move between healthy ranges of efforting and rest is essential for not exhausting your resources. Improving dynamic posture is the result of stimulating the neuro fascial body with sensations of joint stability and new sensory information and not a forced corrective exercises of holding an alignment.
Hydration of Fascia
Dehydration of your fascia will affected the tone of your autonomic nervous system and can shift your posture out of dynamic alignment with your base of support. Emotional and psychological stress as well as repetitive strain injury affects the texture of our connective tissue. Hydrating fascia through specific movement that stimulate the nervous system can help you keep tissues and joints healthy. Unresolved stress in your tissues affects your chemistry, cognition and quality or life.
Discovering and refining neuro fascial selfcare skills can give you tools to alliviate and resolve pre pain and chronic pain sysmptoms. Learn more .
If u have stuck stress in your neck, shoulders and hips you are moving with compensations and compressing the spaces in your connective tissue where neuro receptors live. Tightness, sleep issues and problems with digestion are pre pain signals that your connective tissue needs some support.
There is a difference between compensation and healthy adaptation.

Neurofascial care is a selfcare technique that uses attention, voice, pressure and weight / gravity to bring back our sense of self, stimulate the vagus nerve, rehydrate our fascia and rebalance the nervous system.
Somatic movement is an awareness based practise that can help you invite flexibility and strength and loosen physical, emotional and mental knots that we tend to store in our body, for a more comfortable and creative life experience.
Body reading
Some of us might be completely new to working with the body with awareness and attentiveness to sensations of safety.
Some people may already have awareness of many key aspects of somatics and may even practise some form of fascia care like myofascial techniques to release trigger points. Consider support in understanding neurfascial selfcare and refining your skills to address particular compensations that might be preventing them from acquiring the full benefits of your movement practises.

Creative learning through the body
Can u keep the learning going through your body? Curiosity to explory selfcare through movement and awareness practises is at the heart of this somatic methodology.
Learning about fascia and the nervous system
As we age the responsibilities we take on can put pressure on our resources to maintain a healthy body and mind.
Some of us exhaust our body's material resources and become depressed or dissociated from parts of our body. Some of us get stuck in survival mode overperfoming on a daily basis pushing through signals the body sends us to slow down and rest.
Either way we could use some nourishment to reawaken selfcare with support. Everyone needs to release stress in the diaphragm, shoulder girdle and pelvic floor on a dialy basis.
Rebalancing techniques
In these sessions we learn tools and skills to rebalance the nervous system by stimulating the stability system of our fascial body. We learn to use movement to stimulate sensations around safety, grounding and nourishment. Through qualities of movement and working with rollers and balls we seek to rehydrate fascia and reawaken our stability system, improving our alignment in space over our base of support. Our goal is to awken safety in the body, deescalate the stress response, process desire and resource expressive and dynamic movement potential.
Reconnecting techniques
Shapeshifting with awareness is a process of reconnecting the central nervous system to our periphery and realigning with our center of gravity over our base of support.
Cellular repair
Cellular repair is a fancy way of describing the need of tissues to access nutrients and eliminate metabolic waste through the flow of interstitial fluid. Neuro fascial training and self care is an important aspect to healthy aging, posture adaptability and stress resilience (heart rate variability and circulation).
What is pain?
Pain can be physical and mental and always starts with discomfort. If you can learn to sense in with signs of dehydration you can prevent chronic pain issues. Learning to support the neurofascial body through your daily selfcare is vital for painfree aging.
