40. Halloween 2017
Today is Halloween. It should be a day where Sam is feeling very excited.
But instead, he is feeling puzzled, because he seems to have misplaced his Halloween costume.
It is not in his closet.
It isn't on this shelf.
It isn't in the couch cushions.
Or on the recliner.
Or even in this tall tree!
Where could it be???
~~~
He asks if his friends have seen it.
But they haven't a clue, either.
They suggest that maybe this year, he could go as something new for a change.
Sam is unsure. He has gone as himself for as long as he can remember!
Bingo suggests something scary this year, like a spider!
Sam thinks about it, and he decides that a spider might be a good idea.
For inspiration, he logs onto his computer to look up pictures of spiders.
~~~
But he gets a little more than he bargained for, when he begins looking through the pictures.
He decided that a spider costume would be much too scary.
And is disappointed Bingo could ever suggest something so frightful.
Uncle Tubby, on the other hand, suggests that maybe Sam dress up as something cute and sweet this Halloween.
Something like a fuzzy little bunny rabbit.
He contemplates.
A bunny is a pretty good costume, definitely not too scary.
It would be very cute.
And it would be very sweet!
But... what if it was too sweet?
That would be a disaster!
A bunny wouldn't work either!
But he knew exactly what would...
While his friends got their own costumes ready, he set out to make one of his own.
Something not too cute, but not too scary.
This Halloween, Sam would be...
... a spookadorable spider bunny!
It was perfect. Everyone thought it was very creative.

Even, to everyone's astonishment, grumpy old Mr. Toad.
It was the best Halloween Sam had all year.
And before long, it was time to head back home.
Just imagine Sam's surprise when, on the way there, he found his costume!
It was not where he had left it, but where it ended up was awfully cute, and quite sweet too.
(Not too sweet, though, because chocolate is poisonous to puppies.)
But, because it was such a special day, they were still allowed to eat the lolipops.
And everyone was still pretty happy in the end.
Happy Halloween from Sam and Friends!
