Bad JAMA?

Ben Goldacre's recent book Bad Pharma argues that although trials with negative results are less likely to be published than trials with positive results, the medical journals are blameless: they are just as likely to publish either. I show, however, that this is based on a misreading of the literature and suggest an alternative explanation that shows that editors are biased after all.

The meeting will be held at University of Leeds, Room MALL, Level 8, School of Mathematics, 2pm until 3pm, Refreshments from 1:30pm in level 9 School of Mathematics foyer.
