House of Israel
This is a new oratorio I started to write in late Dec 2021.
I have composed (as of Sun 21 April 2024) 19 of the planned sub-sections.
It is scored for orchestra, SATB chorus, SATB soloists, and 2 brass quintets - although not every subsection uses all of these!
On 23 Dec 2021 I composed the Fanfare that starts the oratorio. The orchestral brass are in the center of the stage (below the chorus and soloists), and 2 brass quintets are to left and right of the stage. This fanfare uses the orchestral brass and the 2 brass quintets. Motifs from this fanfare will recur throughout the oratorio, the 2 brass quintets appearing from time to time, and joining with all in the "6 - 3 - Final Amen" chorus.
