Beatitudes
Op. 36 sets parts of Matthew chapter 5 to music - the first few verses, plus the one at the end of the chapter.
This work has 10 movements - a Prelude, then 1 movement for each of the 9 Beatitude verses ('Blessed are...').
My favorites are parts 3 ('Blessed are the meek'), 6 ('Blessed are the pure in heart'), and 7 ("Blessed are the peacemakers').
This work is scored for SATB chorus and piano accompaniment.
