National Capitol District Governor Donates K10,000 to Police Legacy

On 31st August 2014 our President, Chief Ila Geno GCL OBE QPM MCS, met with NCD Governor, Mr Powes Parkop, who presented him with a cheque for K10,000 to assist Police Legacy to continue with its work. In handing him the cheque Governor Parkop said he was pleased to know that there was an organization such as Police Legacy set up for the welfare of Policemen and Police Women's families. He heard of Police Legacy through Roger Hauófa and was more than happy to support the organization. He applauded Mr. Geno and his Board of Directors for giving their time to such a worthy cause. He said that it is good to for the Police officers to know that such an organization is set up for them and that should boost their moral to carry out their police duties in the knowledge that there are people out there that do care for them and their families because they play an important role in safe guarding the community.

In response Chief Ila Geno thanked Mr. Parkop for the donation and informed him that all proceeds will go to the Commandants Scholarship Trust which exists to support the education of children of Deceased Police Officers who are members of Police Legacy. He was grateful that Politicians like Mr. Parkop have taken an interest in supporting an organization like Police Legacy.

Generous donations such as these are vital in helping ensure the future of the Commandant’s Trust Fund and of Police Legacy.
