MSHS COVID-19 LECTURES, EVENTS & MEETING POLICY
Out of an abundance of caution, effective as soon as possible but no later than Tuesday, March 10, we are instituting a temporary policy to cancel all in-person large group lectures, events, and meetings across the Mount Sinai Health System, and if possible, offer a virtual alternative.
This includes, but is not limited to, grand rounds, educational classes, administrative meetings, and clinical meetings. To be clear, the Mount Sinai Health System, including the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, remains open under this policy. We are just limiting the size of gatherings and also limiting visitors.
Safety Guidelines: Requirements for Meetings
The meeting organizer will ensure that there are the appropriate people stationed at the meeting entry, and with adequate hand sanitizer supplies and directions/signage, to ensure that each participant meets the following criteria:
Symptom check If anyone has any of the following symptoms, or had them in the last 24 hours, they must be refused entry to the meeting: feeling feverish; new-onset persistent cough; nasal congestion and runny nose, or sore throat.
Do not shake hands
Hand hygiene with hand sanitizer prior to entry into the room (there is a wall hand sanitizer around the corner from the radiology conference room).
MANDATORY RESIDENT & FELLOW TRAVEL REGISTRATION
Effective immediately (3/9/2020), all residents and fellows must register their personal domestic and international travel in advance by completing this brief FORM. The form collects basic information about planned personal travel both within and outside of the United States from now through Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
We strongly recommend that you do not travel to any countries designated with a Level 2 or Level 3 Health Notice by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Click HEREfor the latest COVID-19 risk assessment by country. If you choose to ignore this recommendation and travel to one of these countries for personal reasons, upon your return you must:
Contact the Employee Health Service (for residents, clinical fellows and postdocs) at 212-824-7690 or MSHEHSProviders@mountsinai.org.
Self-Quarantine for 14 days. You may be required to cover the cost of self-quarantine if you reside in Mount Sinai shared housing.
