GE hotkeys is a program that adds hotkey functions to the forward/back buttons of a 5 button mouse.
Credit: Created by former resident Saurabh Verma after the migration to GE UV PACS.
The program works in the background and only functions when GE UV is active on the screen.
The main differences are underlined.
Version 1 specifics (Navigator):
Reprograms the forward button to open navigator (the keyboard navigator shortcut has to be set to "n")
Reprograms the back button to create a measurement (the keyboard navigator shourtcut has to be set to "m")
Mouse button retains normal function as zoom
Version 2 specifics (Powerscroll):
Reprograms the forward button to zoom (the keyboard navigator shourtcut has to be set to "z")
Reprograms the back button to create a measurement (the keyboard navigator shourtcut has to be set to "m")
Reprograms the middle mouse button to power scroll. Press the mouse wheel button to toggle on scrolling. Left click to turn it off.
DOWNLOAD ZIP FILE ("GE KEYS SAURABH.zip") at bottom of the page.
There are 2 files.
One is a txt file called "GE KEYS SAURABH" which has the script.
The other is "Autohotkey" which is the program that runs the script.
Note: The script reprograms the mouse to send keyboard shortcuts so it shouldn't interfere with GE pacs.
Copy the two files out of the zip folder onto your desktop,
Then click and drag "GE KEYS SAURABH" into "Autohotkey", and it will activate (Please see the screenshot files below)
Note: The script reprograms the mouse to send mouse shortcuts, so your mouse shortcuts have to be set to "m" for measurement, "z" for zoom, and "n" for navigator.
The program sits in your navigator bar (see screenshot).
You can right click on its icon to suspend it or exit.
There is an experimental version that I am testing, but in general, it is best not to alter the script.
If you leave an altered script on the desktop, it will confuse other residents and potentially affect workflow.
