How to send an exam to PACS?

Morningside

  • Worklist--> query--> click exam

  • Vasc probe= 9L

  • Button to right of circle is to click

  • P2 single shot

  • P4 cine

  • Images send automatically

West

  • Worklist--> query--> click exam

  • Vasc probe= 9L

  • Correct automated settings- scrotal is under small parts

  • Cine- freeze, unfreeze, scan, p1 to capture= last few seconds of images

  • Single image- freeze, p1

  • To send exam: click End exam--> permanent store-->end current patient

    • If it doesn’t work, press F4 on keyboard “bc it could be in the spooler” (box comes up)...Click Resend

  • 24 h US techs... BUT if there's no tech, then:

  • Check in with US techs at beginning of shift, make sure they leave the US probes with you, if there will be no tech that day

  • For troubleshooting - same machines as Morningside/West, so refer to the other columns.

Make sure to:

  1. Wipe the probe to remove gel residues

  2. Write on a piece of paper labelled with the MRN so the techs can register the correct information in the trophon log book while disinfecting the dirty probes the next morning

  3. Place the probe and the paper inside a clear plastic bag
