National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme - NVBDCP is implemented by the Directorate of Health Services jointly with Mission Directorate, NRHM and other Health Directorates. There are six diseases under the NVBDCP - Malaria, Filaria, Kala-azar, Dengue, Japanese encephalitis and Chikungunya. The dynamics of these diseases are largely determined by eco-epidemiological, socio-economic and environmental management systems. Young adults representing the economically productive section, children and pregnant women are most vulnerable, although all age groups are affected.
A Regional Level Training of Trainers programme for District Level Officers was organized from 24 to 28 July 2012 at Hotel Chanakya Inn, Patna hosted by the Department. Former union health minister and alumnus of PMCH Padmashree Dr CP Thakur inaugurated the event. Other dignitaries present were Dr Pradeep Das, Director of Rajendra Memorial Research Institute Patna (RMRI), and Dr Capt. NP Yadav, Principal of PMCH. The event was attended by many participants.
